FAQs

Is Nutritional therapy right for me?

Whether you have a chronic condition or would just like educating on what foods are right for you, nutritional therapy can be a powerful tool in supporting your health goals. If you have any specific questions about whether nutrition is the right fit for you, feel free to give me a call and we can have a chat about whether I can support you on your health journey.

Who would benefit from seeing a nutritional therapist?

-You may be overweight and have tried dieting with no results. I can look deeper into what’s happening on a cellular level and find out whether you have any systems under stress which are affecting your ability to lose weight.

- You have a diagnosed condition where medication alone isn’t enough to make you feel at your best.

- You have an undiagnosed condition – Sometimes people just don’t feel themselves and even after going to the doctors, they don’t know what’s wrong with them. Looking deeper into what’s happening with your gut, hormones, metal toxicity or how well you are absorbing your nutrients can help pin point why you aren’t feeling at your optimum.

-Preventing diseases – You don’t have to have a chronic condition to see a nutritional therapist. You may want to be proactive about your health and make those small changes now which may help prevent chronic diseases as you age such as arthritis, neurological disorders and obesity. Maybe you have certain diseases which run in the family and you want to make steps to prevent the same diagnosis.

- Education – People are becoming more aware of what they are eating not only because of health concerns but because of the impact our food chain has on the environment. Perhaps you are thinking of becoming a vegan or vegetarian and would like support.

How long do I need to see a nutritional therapist for?

This really depends on you and your health goals. I usually see clients for an initial and follow up consultation to ensure the plan is working for them. However, depending on your condition, you may want to see me every few months until you are on track.

Do I need to have functional testing?

No. Functional testing is not required for everyone and often the symptoms you are experiencing are the indicators into how I can best support you. If your condition is complex, I may recommend functional testing as it directs us to exactly what is happening in your body, but you are under no obligation to test.
